Anyone try the Housecall App

Thumbtack doesn’t know you exist. HouseCall Pro thinks you’re just a dumb window cleaner who doesn’t understand techmology. Pick your poison.

LOL. Well said!

Come on guys. I am not trying to pick a fight or upset anyone. HouseCall Pro doesn’t think anyone on here is dumb. I just want to learn more about what tools you guys need to make your business run a little better. We want to design technology to help you, not hurt you. I don’t see the wrong in that. I appreciate constructive criticism. If you try our product out and let us know what could be improved, we will take that very seriously and work to implement it into our software.

Honestly, and in all seriousness: If you could come up with a service that customers could use to find service providers based on value, reliability, professionalism and integrity, where price was not the main factor, I would go all in.

That’s what AL purported to be when they started, and they were great! If they hadn’t gotten greedy, middlemanning wouldn’t be such big business now…they would have OWNED that niche…If you could do what they STARTED out doing, you could put them, and a lot of other middlemanning “services” out of business (IMHO) I say that with no sarcasm whatsoever intended.

Oh, BTW, your method of preventing false “reviews” is excellent, in my opinion.

That’s great to know. How would you suggest reflecting value, reliability, professionalism, and integrity though? Those are all very subjective characteristics. I am just not sure how we could convince people of those characteristics through an app. I would love suggestions on how you would do that.

Aside from the review system, the only other thing I could think of to do would be to remove professionals that cancel on jobs at a certain rate, or receive low ratings often. We could also reward pros that get high reviews, complete similar jobs faster and better than their peers, and respond to job requests faster.

What do you think?

I’m sure this is somewhere in one of the threads but you upload your customers into the app you get them to use your app to schedule, those customers wouldn’t be part of the finders fee would they? HouseCallPro

Unfortunately, you are exactly right about value, etc being too subjective. Again, AL, in my opinion, had a great thing there…they made money off of subscriptions and people could grade the various qualities. (The ratings/reviews would do most of the work, I think, especially once you became known for showing TRULY unsolicited, unbiased reviews.)

If you could revive those good points, refine it all with your method if getting REAL reviews, AND implement the great ideas you mentioned in the second paragraph of your post, I think you’d have a win-win-win.

You would have to come up with some way to prevent “review seeking” though…You (HouseCall) would have to do the work of getting reviews, good or bad, on the service providers. When service providers go after reviews, I think the customer feels like they HAVE TO say something good about the service provider…it’s like an intimidation thing. (To be clear: I am not saying that we shouldn’t invite customers to review us on our websites, etc. I’m talking about “pushing” people for reviews…It feels too much like bullying to me)

Atlas1 isn’t interested in the CRM side of things…
I have no interest in the ‘lead generator’ part…

Not quite what you imagined when y’all were brainstorming the app, I’d bet.
And I’d bet ANYTHING, the end of that meeting sounded like this.

What I’m not sure of is the end result. Are you…
1.) A CRM, that ALSO offers ‘new customers?’

  • Or -
2.) Enticing companies with leads, that ALSO includes a CRM?

Either way, my bitch is with the “also.”

I understand that you think your app was a great idea (world domination by doing both), but…
I want a CRM, and others want a lead generator.

Which side does your allegiance lie?!?
[do NOT say both]

Still trying to get this question answered?

lol. No kidding!

Figured I’d try a different ‘member’
(That’sWhatSHESaid / NotThatThere’sAnythingWRONGWithThat)

I notice you have an account with them or at least show up as a service provider any thoughts?

I do have an account, but I only signed up to get new customers through the HouseCall app, and I don’t think anyone in my area is using them yet, so I can’t give an opinion based on experience…only conjecture.

I know Roland can put you in touch with some folks in his area who have used them though.

Don’t have time to read this whole thread. How much does it cost to join and how much per lead?

Sent from my iPhone using Window Cleaning Resource

$19 a month think up to 5 users
The credit card savings may pay for that 1.99%
10% for leads that pay not just for lead
You don’t have to use the lead feature evidently

dnefox, everything Brian said, plus a nice discount for WCRA members (something like 50% off the subscription, IIRC)

What are the numbers of local leads that are using this service in my area?

Ask housecall

No Brian, they would not be part of the finder’s fee. The only finder’s fee happens when SOMEONE ELSE’S customer that they imported books you in your category.
