Anyone try the Housecall App

You and @c_wininger need to spend the wonderful Michigan winter and get the perfect CRM finished for us!

Ha. I got a ton of suggestions and ideas…
It’s the whole “implementing them” part, that’s the problem.

And incidentally, you probably have more snow on the ground, than we do right now.

Man, I slow down/almost stop at intersections, where I DON’T have a Stop sign.
There was a time, where I would make fun of that whole “snowing in warm weather States.”

But as I get older, I lean more towards ‘Err To The Side of Caution.’

  • hope your family enjoyed their ‘Snow Day!’ :slightly_smiling:

More great updates to hcp rolled out this week. It’s like every week that these guys develop new, useful stuff.

Since there are a lot of HCP users here, figured this is the best place to ask.

Anyone having color issues when uploading custom postcard templates? Uploading mine is changing the colors big time, and pretty sure it has to do with it switching my CMYK over to RGB… not sure if it will print correctly or not, but it totally changes the colors. @Brian_C

i t must be an HCP issue because the others i have tried use quickbooks items and services.
thank you for posting this though, i was not aware and this would have been hugely frustrating to me.

That’s it. Rgb vs cmyk is always a nightmare. Have your art guy give you separate color matched versions of your art for print use and web use.

I would have a test card sent to yourself and see how it prints. It may look weird on your screen but print correctly. Or not.

@c_wininger

I do all of it, and it’s super simple. I designed it in CMYK since it will be used for print, but when uploading it to HCP it is evident it uploads as RGB, at least for the preview. So, unsure if it will print using my original CMYK format, or the obvious change to RGB format…

That’s what I figured, I could test it but just annoying

Never had a problem maybe check and mail your self one I always do

My suggestion would be to design it in RGB (I know I know CYMK is better to design for print usually), and upload that, then send it as a test. If you design in CMYK and convert to RGB the colors will definitely look off onscreen.

I can tell you though that this has never been brought up yet in the 100,000s of post cards we’ve sent. So lemme know what you find out

It’s changing soon, we are doing some major QBO work right now! :+1:

Hey now! I’m semi-new to the business and really can only do weekends. I’ve spent $20 on Thumbtack this month and have gotten over $800 in work (2 or 3 houses). Way worth it to me and my own weekend business so far! :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s great news! I get so frustrated with the QBO sync at times.

@rolandal @HouseCallPro is there anyway to allow employees permission to add non-job events to schedule without allow them to see job prices?

Blue bubble

Unfortunately those two are tied together. Essentially that function makes
it so that they can’t do ANY adding, whether it’s a job, estimate,
customer, or event.

If you drop that suggestion off to the Blue Chat bubble inside the app or
[email protected] we can add it to our list of feature requests!

So here’s a question for everyone:

Who’s still using HouseCall?

What software do you use in addition to HCP?

How many have switched from HCP to another platform, like TCF?

Never signed up.

I’m still with them after over a year. I like how they are always making improvements. It works well with Quickbooks online. They recently rolled out there integration with Yelp so potential new customers can book online instantly.

I now have a NiceJob website (formerly Hatch) and use Responsibid as well. Those two work really well together. I hope sometime soon that @HouseCallPro will come out with a zapier integration soon to work with Responsibid. Double entry is a time waster.
