Any good chemical for rusty threading?

The threading on my ladder locks is corroding and rusting, making them harder to use (they really should have made them out of stainless steel). Do you guys know any good ways to handle this?

WD-40 will work until you go get some new ladder locks the weekend…?

Have you tried lithium grease on it?

Planned obsolescence…

Wire brush the hell out of them and dip in PB Blaster.

As soon as you get sick of that thing find something a little more user friendly!

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. These ladder locks are really good…fairly simple to use and they eliminate the need for tie downs as they both secure the load physically and from theft. Unfortunately, I’ve only had them less than a year and this is happening. They’re fairly expensive (and I just ordered another set!) so I don’t want to get rid of them any time soon.

If anyone has a suggestion of something better but just as simple, please share! But whatever it is has to at least do the same thing of both securing and locking. I’m never going back to ratchet straps and most certainly no other tie down.

Would nt worry too much.i have clamps that are good few years old myself and they are rusted like that as well.Just use WD-40 on them.Think all ladder clamps get rust on that part regardless.
