Aluminum patio covers get on um or no way!

Just throwing this question out there, here in Vegas it seems everyone either has or eventually get those expensive poorly made crappy aluminum patio covers.well when I worked for a company I would get up on them no questions asked if it breaks or falls down then its the companies fault for telling me to get on it and its their insurance issue.now that I have my own thing going I don’t want to get on them anymore.I guess a little older,a lot fatter,my insurance and companies name on the line, etc etc. Problem I have is almost 75% of the houses here if not more have them.I called the companies that make and install them and even they said no way don’t get on them they don’t support weight.just wondering if you guys have them in your area and what’s you take?

Do you absolutely have to get on them?

To do 2 story windows in the back of the houses yes because another thing they like to buy here are solar screens

If the house does not have sloar screens you can usually take the window out of the track and hang out of the window to get them from the inside but even then Vegas likes to make houses with at least one window that is a bigger fixed window so in those cases again you would have to get up there to clean it

Wfp with an angle adapter so that’s its almost horizontal somewhere between 10- 20°. Just a thought

Yes if it doesn’t have solar screens there are several ways you can do the windows without having to actually get on the patio cover.if you can wfp the window you can mop and squeegee it just the same.my problem is the houses that have patio covers and solar screens you can’t just wfp it,you gotta get up there to remove the solar screens

Ya. I guess being in the desert you probably see more solar screens than I do on the beach. Here most people with solar screens have them on a remote controlled roller. I don’t see many aluminium patio covers. Don’t sure if it would dent them but I sometimes use a 4×8 beam to walk along shade structures that can’t be walked on. I just lay it down perpendicular to the wall.
