This company changed hands as far as owners during the time I was involved with it. They also went through a name change. The new owner sent very odd emails at first with unusual sentence composition and lots of exclamation points. I think after several emails their main spoken language was not English. The emails did become better.

Pay was received on a very irregular basis at first. Then they set up a website where all invoices were posted after the sub-contractor finished the work. Payment was considerably more on time and it was easy to check to see if any single invoice had been received or not. If not then you simply resubmitted.

As far as prices, they took the prices that I was currently charging but constantly pestered me to lower them by half. I broke down how much time it took to drive to the job, how long the job took (and how much glass it had), how much time it took to get the paperwork filled out and signed, how much percentage my men received, etc to show that the price they wanted to pay was so terribly low that my men would make $2.00 (and I pay them a high commission). After that they did not ask me to lower the price.

I have basically come to the conclusion that I will work for a national janitorial chain only if I can set the price (with added paperwork fees) and I get in writing that I can charge a late payment fee and they put in writing that they will pay within 30 days of when they receive my filled out paperwork.

I’ve dealt with them in both incarnations. They are certainly all very personable, unlike most I had encountered with NEST before I cast them away from me.
We were doing a couple jobs for AFM and then just one until I dropped it a month ago. The pay wasn’t bad, but not great either. It just happened to be far into a shopping mall where you had to be done with outsides before 10 am. For one $30 job with about 3 minutes walking each way, it just became not really worth it.
There were occasional blips in communication and paperwork, but nothing too horrible. Timeliness of payment was not stellar, but no worse that what I’ve generally come to expect from NSPs.
