What has been good for me
1- Google addwords
2- Flyers
3-word of mouth

Funny thing about the flyer…Its weird …doesn’t bring me a lot of work…Actually not much at all…will do 5000flyers in one area spaced out and I get 2 calls but one of those calls gets me a bunch of work cause the guy builds condos and he wants us to clean them and then that opens other doors…So I continue using the flyer bc of these types of contracts…Google add has been good…Many calls.
You know ive always wanted to go to an area where there are row houses on a Saturday morning with 1 of my workers and just start knocking and telling the people I will do the outside for a really good price…(waterfed)…Anyone try this;

How do you do your AdWords? Most people seem to have not had much success with them so I’m interested to hear what has worked for you.

I am just glad I don’t advertise, that’s a lot of work

I believe there is a company in Canada that does that exact thing, I believe it was @cactus27 that posted something about them in the past (I could be wrong about who posted it…but) YES I believe there guys that do that all the time in the UK also I’m sure @jonnyald knows a few he come across in his daily journeys.

we have someone from Google take care of that…Roughly costs us 275$ a month. We are always first on the Search when you type in …Windows or anything with window washing…

they drop several pairs of people with push carts in an area and go door to door but they are not cheap!! last quote i heard from them was 400 for a job a did for 100 prices all over, as much as can get.

Have any of you guys used Home Advisor and or Angie’s List?

iv learnt its best to try several different methods,all at the same time. sometimes one will work well,sometimes it wont,its like fishing

so keep many lines in the water you never know who /when people will see your ads

i built my round on really crappy looking flyers,proved the point that it was not how they looked ,it was down to sheer numbers of them going out that they worked. i home printed and doled out about 5 times of them over what i had originally in mind .did about 25k [over 2 or 3 yrs ,each springtime ]

then i pulled the plug cos i [and my workers] were overloaded with work

iv wondered since to myself,what would have happened if id carried on doing it,say double that effort? id have been forced to expand more ,but would i have coped?
