11 Story condo

I’ve been flirting with high rise for the last year, and then out of the blue I hade condo board approach me about doing this 11 story condo. It’s exterior only, no balcony windows, just the wall windows. Im trying to figure out how best to bid this. I don’t have rope set up so it’ll be from a lift. Im spitballing here, because I don’t really know where to start for the bidding. I like to make $800-$1000/man/day, Im figuring on 4-5 long days. Or would you bid per pane? There’s roughly 600 windows total. If I bid $5/pane that’s only $3000 that seems like a high pane price, but such a low total for this big of a job. I would obviously add on the rental fees for the lift and delivery. Just looking for some direction.
Thanks

Looks like a nice job! What size lift are you using, factoring in you can’t get right up at least some sections in the picture?

I think 150 will get it. I have my rep from sunbelt meeting me there this week to do a site survey. I’ll go with what he says. I’ve been talking with some other guys, I’m trying to find a good rope guy that would do this job with me and train me up on some rds stuff. I think it would be cheaper and more competitive bid

Gotcha. Make sure the rep shoots it with a laser, especially to check side reach. 150’ is an expensive machine, as you know, so pad your rental costs. We use them sometimes: add in some man hours as these are slower machines. Sounds silly, but it simply takes a lot longer to get up to where you’re working. Can I ask, have you used a 150’ before?

I haven’t used one that large before. I figured it would probably be
slower. But I’ll definitely bring up shooting it with a laser. Great
idea. It’s looking like i might get a row ce in to sub it out and train
along side them for the first clean.

I like where you’re going with this. That price seems crazy high, but if
it’s a legitimate possibility I would take that in a heartbeat. Thanks

Ha ha, sorry, let me clarify. Is seems high… to me. I’ve not bid a job
of this size before.
However, what I do find difficult is that after posting here and on FB,
I’ve talked to a hand full of guys around the country about this specific
job and the range is huge…as low as $3,000 up to $15,000. It is just the
windows on the walls, not the balconies

Who said they would do that job for $3,000? They are crazy.

I agree.

Well on the Pro Window Cleaning group on Facebook the op asked the same question. A squeegee squad franchise owner said they would do it for $1800!

So what happened? Get the job?

I bid it at $3500, had a sub lined up for $2500. They chose to go with their previous company at $2,000. The same company that skipped windows and cleaned with dirty water the last time… of well, it test just came down to price
